Description
- NYCO” fabric, a nylon-cotton blend designed to withstand wind and rain, a novelty exclusive to the army at the time,
- an internal bending bead,
- button tabs on the shoulders, as a soldier always needs an extra point of attachment for the many items he carries,
- four flap pockets with snap fasteners, quicker and easier to use than conventional M51 buttons,
- triangular extensions tucked inside the sleeves (thanks to a Velcro system), to cover the hands in windy conditions. Practical in certain situations, they did have a few drawbacks in everyday life: it was very difficult to wear the jacket with the sleeves rolled up, and the feeling caused by these flaps was rather unpleasant around the wrist,
- a stand-up collar to protect the neck and store a foldaway hood inside.
- Supplied without removable liner.
